I love my Keurig, but when I am on the road, I don't want to pack ANY large electric coffee maker, let alone a Keurig, due to space. But even if I did have the room, I am rarely plugged into electric anyway, since I prefer boondocking. Sure I could turn on the generator, but I don't want to have to depend upon doing that every day for my morning cup of joe, since many times noise is an issue. So that leaves me with a very limited number of options, such as a french press, or pour-over coffee maker. Both of these have their merits, and I have tried each of them. The french press is great, and it does make a great cup of coffee, but it is very messy to clean, and when water is precious due to boondocking, it is easier to just forego. The pour-over coffee makers are very compact and convenient, perfect for travel in a small space, but trying to come up with just the right amount of coffee to use for each cup is difficult. I never did figure it out. Therefore, when I received this beauty from my daughter Kaitlyn for Christmas this year, I was very excited to try it out immediately.
My opinion is that for convenience, along with the perfect cup of coffee every time, you just cannot beat this K-Cup Gourmia, which is essentially a non-electric Keurig. It even makes that nice squirting noise at the end of each brew. And if you DO have the convenience of water, you can even use your own coffee with reusable K-Cups that can be purchased separately. The only drawback that I can see to the Gourmia, is that it is a bit large, but it does disassemble into two to three pieces, making it easier to store. I have to say that for me it is the best option for making that perfect cup of coffee when on the go. If you want to check it out yourself, click on the link below to get one at Amazon.
